You know, I think of vegetarians as being weird people. On one hand I respect the fact that they don't eat other living things (although some would argue that plants are living). But look, sometimes I just have to have a cheeseburger or steak. I'm sure if I saw the process of the places that slaughter cattle or other types of livestock I may change my mind, but until then I'm omnivorous.

Ah, a long weekend, kind've scarey because I'm getting use to them, 2 in a row! Woohoo! Didn't really get anything accomplished. I did do a little work in the office, but for the most part just vegged in front of the bigscreen.

Man, this Collective Soul new CD is really good. I'm so glad to have it. Can't wait for it to come out on the 16th so I can go buy it, I have all of their others. The thing I like about it is that almost every song is pretty damn good.

Have you ever memorized a phone number by the location of the buttons on the phone? Or maybe its the pattern used, I don't know and it's probably stupid but I do that, after I know a number for a while I forget the number and just remember the pattern on the phone. I know, I'm flicted or dyslexic or something, but that's just me. There is one pattern I will never forget.

I have a lot of stupid little things I do to help me remember shit. I wonder if I will end up having alzheimers or something when I'm older. Kindve scary actually. I always have to say out loud what color the traffic light is that I'm about to go under, like "Green" or "Red". I guess cause I'm afraid I don't trust my short term memory, I'm always asking myself while I'm in the middle of the intersection, was that red or green??? No I have never ran a red light, but hell, maybe I'm wrong! I've caught myself saying my poker hands out loud when looking at my cards. Not a very "Moneymaker" thing to do, and I have no clue I'm doing it when I do it. Ah, maybe I smoked too much dope when I was younger.

Long Time No C

Well, its been a while, but I'm still here. I guess there are a lot of things I need to talk about, or rather could talk about. So let me see what all's been going on...

-Wendall Had surgery Wednesday for a mammary tumor (breast cancer), She came through it OK I guess, but its so weird how much a part of the family she is. She isn't supposed to jump or do anything real physical, but she insists on sleeping on top of the couch which involves a lot of jumping, oh what we do for pets. I was reading about this tumors online and for the most part, they don't seem as bad on dogs as people. But then it said that there is a 2 year life expectancy after one is removed. Two years? That seems too short. Life without her would suck big time, I can't believe I'm so attached to her.

-My boss at work has put in his 2 week notice. This really sucks. Not that I'm a big fan of his but for numerous other reasons. First of all, any time you have a new boss come in house, they want to change the world. And you have to change right along with them, for the most part I'm a creature of habit, changes suck. So we are down to 1 Supervisor on 2nd shift and 1 on 3rd, and 2 on first, so anytime someone on the back shift wants to be of, I have the wonderful decision of either working 2nd or 3rd shift, or working 12 hours the days they are out. Work sucks, I need to win the lotto, or find a rich woman to take me away.

-I went to the movie tonight and saw "Friday Night Lights". A movie about high school football, and it did bring back a lot of memories, some good and some bad. It was weird when you actually played though, hard to describe but almost like you don't hear the crowd at all, and everything is moving in slow motion until you get hit, then eveything explodes into action. I wish I could go back and redo it, as I would redo lots of things. I know, wish in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which fills up the fastest huh?

-A friend is going to Ft.Myers Fla to do some computer work. Just hearing that name brings back so many memories. I know I will never forget.

Well, I thought I had lots to talk about, but actually I guess I don't, I've worked like 21 days in a row, so its just been work and then home. I guess that at least keeps me out of trouble. But I'm off 2 whole days in a row now, no real plans, maybe washing my truck & watching the Braves, nothing exciting.

Days seem to pass in a blur. At times I wonder who I am even. There are parts of my life that couldn't be better, and other things...

What is it that makes us happy in life? Is life even supposed to be measured in happiness? What if - what little time we have is being wasted on working 10hrs a day and not living it to the fullest. Why do I feel guilty for having 1 day off a week? As I guess you probably can tell today has been a heavy day for me. Some times I can deal with it, and put on a happy face and go on, other days are harder. I have so many good people in my life that lends support and friendship, I shouldn't complain at all. OK enough already. I'm sure when my number is called, I'll be ready.

Southern-isms

• Peaches - Georgia has the best peaches, Canada's peaches are for northern people who don't know what a real peach is supposed to taste like.


• Peanuts - In order to be a true southerner, you must either put peanuts in your bottled Coke, or understand the meaning.

Who Knew?

When I was younger, my favorite toy was G.I.Joe I would dream of getting 1 or 2 every Christmas. I had several, but my favorites were the adventure sets, with the vehicles and lots of accessories. Another favorite of mine was the small plastic army men that we could always find so many ways to play with, or should I say battle with. They were also useful for using them as firecracker fodder. The normal type of play with these little guys would be to line them up in offensive or defensive positions and use a superball to knock them over. The "official" rules stated that the only soldiers killed were the one's hit after the first bounce only. This brought hours of enjoyment to my brother and I. Several other toys that I was nerd'd out on were the following:

I am sure BLOGing has caused me problems in the past; how, you may ask? Well trust me, it has. I open myself up to all kinds of involuntary incite here (sure, by my own doing). I am an asshole, but I guess everyone is at times. I do have feelings, but doesn't the next guy? Where is this going? WTF knows. I just know it seems every time I find or do something good, I manage to fuck it up. Maybe its cause I care too much, hell maybe its cause I don't care enough. I wonder at times where I'm going or where I even came from. I am getting to a point in my life where my past is a lot easier to look at than my future, that's sad, that's got to change. There are good things in my life now. And I'm going to try the best way I can to figure up how not to screw that up, yet again. Help me.

Still Here

Well, it wasn't as bad as Frances, which surprised a lot of people. At least for us here anyway. I know there is a lot of damage in Alabama and Florida, but kind of went around us. No power for 3 or 4 hours, no real big deal. Now lets get ready for Jeanne.

My daughter was selling candy for her band at school. I took the book to work and let the ladies pass it around and ended up selling a couple of sheets worth of stuff. So anyway, it was delivered the other day, now I gotta lug all of it to work and collect money for it, sheesh.

The Calm Before The Storm

Today was eerie, grey out and a lot of clouds, but no rain, just cool strong winds. Ivan has decided to take his time in getting here. And I'm afraid he will be taking his time to leave too. From the news tonight, the eye has hit Panama City, and I am roughly 130 miles away. Preparations are being made, but some things you just miss whether your prepared or not. I held a meeting with all my employees this afternoon and told them we were still scheduled to work tomorrow, but all the local schools have cancelled the next 2 days. The shop has been readied for the worst, and my house has been checked. Lets rock and roll...

The Cable Guy

So our cable service was interrupted last month. In other words, they cut our shit off cause we didn't pay it on time. I hate when that happens, especially when the damn money is in the bank! But what qualifies my cable being cut off to be a Blog subject is what happened afterwards. I'm getting home and sit down to check the email, no service, I go to the TV to check out the news, fuzzzz, BASTARDS! About that same time, I get a call from the "the cable guy", he tells me that he will hook us back up and is sitting right outside. Hmmm, This is something new to me, so I say come on in. He tells me that it will be a $15 reconnect fee, plus the megabucks we owe for the months service. I was totally unaware of what the checking account balance was, and had no idea what kind of checks had been written up to that point. So I tell him, dude let me call my wife and I'll get back to ya on this one. So I call her and find out what the balance is and determine I can pay the bill, and the dude calls and asks if I'm ready to be cut on, um yeah I guess, but cant I pay this over the phone with my debit card, well, yeah you can, but then I'll just have to come back and cut it on, and it will take much longer. Is there still a reconnect charge? Yup! Shit, I HATE reconnect charges, money wasted. I'm still skeptical about the whole thing, so I tell him we don't have money to pay it, screw you cable guy bastard! So I get the cable company on the phone and guess what, if you pay on the phone there is no reconnect fee - Oh SHIT, I'm mad now, I HATE being lied to, with a passion. I find out that they don't actually cut anything on, they just are contractors that basically run around and collect. I am tempted not to pay this month just so I can scare the shit outta the guy. Who, me body slam the scrawny cable guy's ass, that wasn't me your honor!

I think my daughter is trying to kill me! Every time I go to take a shower, that rubber mat thing on the bottom down there is stuck against the wall. I asked Kay why she was doing this and she tells me that it leaves unsightly circles on her ass (not in those words exactly) when she takes a bath in the tub. Here is the deal. We have 2 FULL baths in our house and one is entirely hers, but you know why she doesn't like her tub? It has rough little spots in it so you wont slip. My god, is her ass that fragile? So I say, OK, I will take over your bathroom, but I was quickly vetoed because my stuff doesn't look right in a "teenage girls" bathroom, ARGH! OK then, the next time you use my bathtub, put the little rubber thingy back down, OK? Alright daddy dear. So my next trip to the shower I step on the well placed shower mat and it slips out from under me and I almost bust my ass! I guess because the little sucker thingys were not engaged properly or something, who the fuck knows. Maybe its for the large ass life insurance policy I have right? Why hell no, cause there aint one! Muhhhhhahahahahahah!

OK, I normally don't bitch, do I? OK, maybe I bitch a tad, but not that much, right? OK, I bitch a lot, but only about shit that deserves to be bitched about, right? OK, What did I do last weekend? Yeah, well Brian and I couldn't get everyone over for poker, so we went to Pat's to play some pool and have a drink or two. But, Pat's was packed, so we decided to go to Columbus to a bar. OK not just any bar but a "Titty-Bar". Hmmm, you may say. I did have a good time, I didn't touch anyone or catch anything, and I only spent $20, so I feel pretty good about myself. What's weird is, the girls come over and like spread their legs apart right in front of you, so I guess your supposed to look right there, right? I always want to look in their eyes, and they are like, nooo look at my pussy! I'm such a dork. So, I showed Brian where my old haunts were, and guess where he went last night with another buddy of mine? Yup you guessed it. Well, if he gets a divorce, its not my fault! I always enjoyed going to the titty-bars with my guy buddies, I never wanted to drive, and always wanted to get hammered. I haven't been "drunk" in so long, I've kindve forgotten the feeling, maybe one day.

Times, they change. I still feel the same way inside. I still care. I close my eyes and remember good times and bad. I try and imagine the future. And maybe the bends in the river will be good for me too.

Ooops, I started to slide there didn't I, hang on let me count to 10, 9, 8, 7... Anyway, I like Alter Bridge, you know they are the group composed of all the X-Creed members *Minus* Scott "getting-sued-by-fans-cuz-of-shitty-performances" Sapp or Strap or whatever the hell his name is. *PLUS* lead singer Myles Kennedy formerly of the Mayfield Four. Now, my position on this whole internet stealing music fiasco has always been; put more than one good song on a damn CD! I mean, why do you think everyone is buying those "Now This Is What I Call Music 16!" CD's. Ohhh don't even get me started. Put out a good CD, for under $50 and people will buy it, bastards! Whew, I kindve had veins showing there for a sec. Oh yeah, the song I like best on the CD is "One Day Remains" mostly because of the guitar licks, but I just like it. For anyone interested the group does sound like Creed to me, and I didn't really care for it when I first listened to it, maybe because I was wanting Creed, but after 2 or 3 times, I accepted it for what it is, a new group that plays really good. Lets see if I remember how to do this. I do like posting these things, just never get around to it. I have been addicted to POGO lately. It's about the only thing on the internet that I've actually paid for. Unlike popular belief, I do not pay for porn (I get that for free, let me know if your interested, lol). I have been downloading a lot of music lately, Jessica Simpsons CD is surprisingly good, I also like Velvet Revolver. I haven't gotten my tattoo yet, which is basically pissing me off. Its going to cost quite a bit for what I want, and there are so many other things I want as well, like a 19inch flat panel monitor and a 160GB external HD for all my MP3s. But I will get it soon! Oh speaking of getting things, I got a diamond stud for my ear, I do miss my gold hoop though...

I'm up to 551 DVD's in my collection now. Probably over 700 if you counted multiple disc sets, like TV series and such. Not that its a real big deal, but I like bragging about it! LOL. I'm watching Smallville season 2 now, I kindve like it for a change. I just got Dead Like Me, I know nothing about it except that its a Showtime series.

Well, the cable guy just left after hooking up HD and DVR. The first thing he tells me when he walks in, is that he knows nothing about it, seems I'm one of the very first people in this po-dunky place that has HDTV. The picture is awesome, after I explained to him how to connect it, of course it came with component jacks instead of the DVI that I really wanted (I hear they cost a lot though). The sound is only coming from my TV, I ran him out before he screwed that up, so now my mission is to figure out optic audio. I'm sure I can do as good, if not better, than he managed. Oh well, electronics, YEAH BABY!

BTW, I do like the new BLOG post dashboard. Anything with spellcheck wins my vote everytime...

I remember riding my bicycle, I may have been 9 or 10. It was one of those goofy looking banana seat jobs with a chopper front. That was the style back then, 1971. We used baseball cards in the spokes to make it sound cool, and I remember being able to ride for blocks with no hands. We would ride on one wheel forever, I would probably break my neck doing that now. We would ride so fast the bikes would be shifting from side to side, and our bodies would be just the opposite, pumping the bikes for more speed, faster & faster, not letting our butts ever hit the seat. Streamers fling from our sissy bars while we raced through the streets to horseshoe lake to collect frogs. Me and Mickey Smith. I wish I knew where he was now.

I love Aldo Nova. At one point in time I was freaking out with Def Leppard, But the more I listen to Aldo, the more I turn back to the 80's and want to re-live all those fun times we had (er, they were fun, weren't they?). Ah, Blogging, the new American pastime! I was watching Tech TV the other day and they were reading some people's Blogs onair, and they really sounded stupid. What I'm Listening To Right Now: Holiday In Spain - Counting Crows - Films About Ghosts (03:51)]

Hmmm, not much to report today. Today marks about the 3 week i've been out of work, was supposed to have an appointment today but the doctor was out of the office. I never thought I would miss work, I don't think I do, but I miss getting out and talking to different people. I can see why people that are home all the time have to find things to keep themselves busy or whatever, its very easy to get in a rut and get down on yourself. Whats really scary is that I have found myself going to sleep later and later every night, where now its almost daylight before I get in bed. It seems I watch the 11 o'clock news and then maybe check online for MP3s or make a DVD and then i'm not real sleepy so I will watch a movie, before you know it, its 4am. That's going to really be great when I try going back to work, waking up at 5am, my guess is that I will not have any sleep the first day back at work.

I wonder if I understand my role in this life. I always get confused when I watch a movie or read a book that relates to "the big picture" and where we all fit in. I mean, I was thinking today, why can't everybody be rich and everyone be able to sit on the beach sipping drinks with little umbrellas in them. But then, who would make the drinks for us all the enjoy? Who would labor to make the glasses that we use and the furniture that we sit on? Who would make our rooms up in the 5-star hotels that we all stay at? God I hate thinking like this.

I have this weird obsession with watching documentaries about serial killers. I don't understand what makes people do that, kill innocent people, but then on the same token, what makes people like myself find them interesting, like I said, weird.

You know what sucks? Craving something for a long time and finally getting it and its not really as good as you wanting it to be. Or even worse, getting it, and then getting it again and again and again, until its not a favorite anymore and you've killed the craving forever, bummer.

Do you think everyone is prejudice? I tend to think so. I mean, I don't think everyone goes around hating, but I think everyone is a little prejudice in their own way, whether its something as simple as being the only white or black person in a large group of people, or whether its something as derogatory as being a member of a group such as the KKK. There are exceptions to this I think, I think there is a certain percentage that feel totally opposite and would rather be with the other race, which I think is great if that's what that person really wants. I personally find using the "N" word vulgar and have taught my child not to use it, however, I think that by everyone freaking out about it, it gives the word more power than it deserves. Also, whats this shit about a black person can call another black person this and its OK, bullshit. If its a derogatory work, then lets everyone treat it that way, I do. I think that the PC thing for all white people these days (it seems) is to worry about their thoughts and beliefs, I mean how many people have gotten fired for their offensive remarks and thoughts. I saw Kelly Clarkston on TV the other day and she said something kindve stupid and made the comment "I'm soo white", like she blamed her ethnicity for saying something dumb. Yeah, its fucked up, some of the things people say, and when you really know someone and are alone with them and find out there "real" thoughts on racism or whatever, but, its turned into (I think) something that now I even worry about things I so. You know what, those people are numorous in the white and black crowds. I was talking to a group of mixed race people and made the comment "you people" and after the meeting several of the black member of the meeting stopped by and told me I was being rude by saying that, christ. Yeah, i'm not black, and I haven't had to go through what a black person has had to go through, but hey, i'm fat have they had to go through elementary school with everyone pointing that out to them? i'm a American Indian desendant, and I think it was wrong the way they were treated when this country was founded, but hey I don't hold a grudge about it. Things like the N.A.A.C.P. really rub the average working class white person wrong, what if there were a organization called the N.A.A.W.P.? Shit would hit the fan. This may sound like i'm a very prejudice person, but honestly, I just would like for everyone to see everyone elses side without freaking out about it. You see, using the "N" word is wrong, but what I think is MUCH more important is treating everyone with decency and kindness all the time. If everyone did that, all the time, a word like that wouldn't even be in anyones vocabulary. I have had this conversation with a black friend of mine, and we always disagree, he always tells me that he wouldn't have a problem with his daughter dating a white kid, and he feels just as comfortable around white people as he does black people. that's all good, but when I see him away from the plant, 100% of the time he is with black friends. I'm trying not to sound bitter or whatever hear, I know I am, I just sometimes hate being blamed for being a part of an rich, uncaring, self richeous race, when I don't feel like I am. Do you know when the black ladies at work get paid, they say they gotta go pay the "white man" in reference to paying their bills. i've been told my race has discriminated the black race for so long that now the word and meaning of the word "BLACK" is now bad. Like the bad guy always wears black, when anything bad happens its a black day. For the record, my opinion is that I think there are good people and bad people. I think that you don't have to be white or black or yellow or brown to be either good or bad. I think its in a persons words AND actions that judgment should be formed about that person. And I do think Rodney King was right, why can't we all just get along? OK, i'm done venting, sorry.

I love life! I constantly find things to worry about most of the time, but not tonight. Um, and I'm not even drinking anything!

New CEO of the corporation where I work (over 150 plants) has decided that we did so poorly the 1st quarter that it was time to reduce the salary staff by 14% (750 of the 5400 employed). So rumors are that there will be 5 going from our plant (3 layoffs and the 2 job positions that I won but they didn't give me that was frozen), and another 6 effected, such as bumped from a salary job to an hourly position). Nobody thought it would happen fast, but right after the conference call they started escorting the people out of the plant. It was 3 people that probably needed to go, 1 was a pretty good guy, but handled stressful situations poorly. Well, that was yesterday, so I'll probably hear more about it Monday.

My little sister had her baby today at 3:15pm. They induced labor around 8 this morning. Aaron Walker, named after my 2 grandfathers. He weighed in around 7lbs 3ozs, no work on the length yet. Sis is fine but tired. Will keep you updated.

Oh yeah, I got my pyrex bowls in the mail today from eBay, I LOVE them!!! I know, I'm wierd. I also bought a new DVD today, Cradle to Grave with Jet Li and DMX.

So I'm over at the townhouse finishing up the closets and I run across what was left of my album collection. I left it in my old bed room at my parents house, it was a garage/shop that my Father and I remodeled and it caught a leak and messed up all but these few, maybe 20 or 30. They were molded on like a forth of each album, so I made the executive decision to throw them away. SHIT! It was like amputating my arm! How can I throw away a japanese Foreigner 4 import? Or Night Ranger's greatest hits??? ARG! So, that kindv'e depressed me somewhat.

A lot more has been going on, I will try and get back to talk about it. Hope I can remember it all...
